Day 138 Tuesday 26th January 2010
Stacey says
We woke up bright and early this morning, not being able to use the bathroom in our room as the guy in the room decided to have a 50 minute wash?! His skin head was gleaming clean! We set of on a scenic route back to Auckland, stopping at Rawene in Hokianga, we took a look at an old jail, , then over to play on the rubber tyre swing on the beach. it's a really small remote town, they don't even have any banks or ATM's. Then we passed another scenic town which we stopped to take some photos of the sand dunes on the side of the mountain. Next stop was Waipoua Kauri Forest, to visit the Tane Mahuta named for the Mauri Forest God, 51m tall and 13.8m girth. So we all set off to take a photo of a tree! We finished up at Auckland for 4pm. The hostel had a free bbq tonight for dinner, so we sorted out our trip, ate and fell into bed shattered.
