Wheeeeeyyyyy! Beno made it Melbourne, Australia! :D It's kinda weird after travelling in countries so different from back home - being in Oz now feels kinda like home. I mean - the last few nights have been an introductory Uni experience, lots of playing CTR and generally chilling out doing sweet F.A. with some wicked stuff chucked in as well.
So... Yeah - I made it to Singapore with way too much time to spare.. but not really enough time to allow me to explore the city - which was frsutrating because it looks absolutely amazing - incredibly modern, it looks like it could have been built last year. Like a 'GOOD' city but 'fresher' if that makes any sense. By this time however, the only thing on my mind was to get some sleep after I'd been awake for almost 2 days travelling on trains - and Singapore Changi airport has been voted No.1 airport in the world for waiting and sleeping. On that note I wasn't really spoilt for choice. It took a while to find a good spot but eventually I did find one that had deck-chair style reclining seats that looked out onto the runway. So I set myself down and managed to catch about 2/3 hours. Anyway - I was all chilled by the time my flight was due to leave, and even better the plane we were on was a brand new one with lush economy seats with carbon fibre plating. Obviously, in true beno style - I sussed out the media package we'd been given with our personal touch screen TVs and ended up watched almost 3 films! :D split up between making friends with the cabin crew and getting more food and drink than everyone else and getting Australia tips from the Melbournian sitting next to me.
Arrival was all good - customs weren't really as bad as I expected and I followed the perfect instructions of Dave T to get into the city and to his Uni. Had a good chat with the skybus driver from the airport and then had a pretty re-westernising sunrise walk through Melbourne's CBD before getting on the tram that was helpfully marked 'Melbourne University'. My word has Dave got a luuuush set up! Luckily for me I was able to crash on his floor in his halls, which, I might add, are in a damn sandstone castle like building! :D Haha! I did Dave a favour by buzzing him out of bed at 6:30am. NAAAAAT! All good tho - I had the first shower where Ive actually needed to have hot water for in about 5 months. And then... I realised - not only was I getting free accom as a backpacker... but FREE FOOD AS WELL!!! Breakfast and lunch are pretty much a buffet of endless good stuff... and then dinner (My first 'Queens College' experience was that night and I had to wear a black HOGWARTS style gown and stand as the scholars strolled in! haha! was awesome!) was also a wash of pretty damn good food too. So over the last few days Ive been spoiled! :D Love it.

I've been having a class time with Dave at Uni - and accomplished many things. :P #1 (after realising that Dave had CTR and a PS2) was starting an adventure on CTR and getting it to 100% completed by the time I left! :D #2 (which is of course really number 1) is having got stuck into Uni life and making a few friends along the way - Being involved in the unique and once-a-year 'Lads Footy Bonding' where all the guys go out and hit the town doing beer bongs, playing drinking games - and naming a 'Birthday Boy' who has an... unspeakable night. Kinda like The Hangover - all evidence must be deleted... But i was priveliged to have been invited to be involved - and proud to have got stuck in on some of the singing games!: "AAAAAAA LAAddyyyy walked into the store one day, asking for a NAIL..." "A NAIL FROM THE STOOOORRREEE!?..." "... A nail she wanted, A SCREW SHE GOT!" eerr... yess.... unspeakable night. :D GOOOOD TIMESSS!
So - I have just one more day in Melbourne and just a couple of missions. I've got to get some fish and chips, dusted with 'chicken salt' as im told its the best thing eveeerrrr... and I have to get to the Skydeck which is the hishest viewing platform in the souther hemisphere. I did the Melbourne Aquarium today with DT... awesome time... :( After 6 years it was both weird and wonderful to see him again - definately remember why we were such best mates ages ago. :) Its been a BLAST!
OH AND TOMORROW!!! AFL game!! Going to see a live Auzzie football match on friday night - ive been told that Melbourne is THE place to go to soak up the best atmosphere! So I'm pshyched! :D
