I finally arrived in Melbourne airport on the 18th after a very long and tiring journey.
I have spend the last month or so with Chris at his home in East Bentleigh. It has been great to meet his lovely family and friends and of course see Chris again!
The first week was spent trying to adjust to the time zone however going out drinking and staying up to watch the world cup games at four in the morning did not help!
We have been out a few times into the city and around St Kilda. Drinking... and everything else.. is very expenaive compared to Edinburgh but it has been great to go out and meet Chris' friends and experience the nightlife in Melbourne.
I have also ventured into the city centre to visit the Melbourne Museum, Federation square, the State Library, National Gallery of Victoria, the Botanic gardens and of course the shops!
I drove in to the city last week on my own, first time driving an automatic and first time in the city by my self. What a nightmare, got myself completely lost but eventually found my way back. Dont think i will try driving in the centre again, way to confusing and scary with the crazy tram drivers!
Interested in a holiday in Victoria?
Have a look at the great deals on offer now!
Last weekend Chris and I went on a road trip down the Great Ocean Road. It was loads of fun and the views were spectacular! We stopped in a few seaside town on the way and stayed over in Lorne and in Warnambool. It was a great weekend to celebrate out one year anniversary.
Chris has been working in his old hospital Monash as he came back from Africa with zero money! We were hoping to travel up north to the sun after a couple weeks but as money was tight we stayed longer.
We have a weekend away in Brisbane this weeknd which should be fun however Chris has to return to work on Monday. I have decided to stay and travel on my own for a while until Chris has a job sorted in the Northern Territory. Slightly apprehensive about travelling along but im sure i will have fun!
Will update again soon
Becky.
