Mavz I want to show my appreciation to the ewrtir for bailing me out of this type of predicament. As a result of looking out throughout the the web and getting notions that were not productive, I assumed my life was well over. Existing devoid of the solutions to the problems you've sorted out through your entire guide is a crucial case, as well as ones that would have negatively affected my career if I hadn't noticed your web site. Your own knowledge and kindness in handling the whole lot was precious. I don't know what I would've done if I hadn't come upon such a step like this. I'm able to at this time look ahead to my future. Thanks a lot so much for your high quality and amazing help. I will not hesitate to propose the blog to any person who requires guidelines about this situation.

Bryan Lake Titicaca is beautiful. I didn't get to visit Isla del Sol, but I did visit Isla Amantani and Isla Taquile. It was a great place.I also rlieed on homemade avocado and tomato sandwich in Peru and Bolivia. I was certainly grateful for the fact these veggies/fruits grew there.

Gargi Andrea - Great photos and a nice recap of your trip! How was the hike up to Machu Picchu? My mom went there about 10 years ago and did the hike. Reading your blog buorght back memories of her stories from Peru. I know she was really sad about all the children on the streets, and it sounded like she gave them pretty much everything in her purse that she could! I'm glad you guys stood your ground on the cab issue!!

re: Paraty, BrazilOtavio - OMG! I'm SO excited, only one more month until I go on my Inca Trail Trek! Hopefully I won't be off to such a rocky start, but it looks like erhvyteing worked out ok for you. I'm going through perutreks and I've heard pretty good things about them. I need to learn how to do the long exposure on my dslr so I can get that sweet night shot like you did! Great pictures, thanks for sharing!
re: Machu Picchu, PeruNelson Emily Hatch - As a fellow stelkar, I have to agree with Noelle. This single picture, however poster perfect it is, simply does not satisfy our need. I know you are overwhelmed, so I will try to remain patient. Love you Rach, it was nice talking to you today!March 27, 2009 7:08 pm
re: Ilha Grande, BrazilMumi Strange how you stumble upon tnhgis.I signed up for an account at Wordie just yesterday and came across your entry for 'kenspeckle'. Further investigation led me here to the post wherein you expounded upon the discovery that KenSpeckleLetterPress has a blog. Which mention astounded me since I've been 'virtual' friends with those two good people for a year and more, separated as we are by the 49th parallel and a good 2,000 plus miles. One might say this introduction is very kenspeckle in the degree of serendipity that must have conspired to make it happen! That, and our shared knowledge of such a quaint, rare word. So, good afternoon, Lauren; it's a pleasure to meet you.
re: Puerto Iguassu, ArgentinaAwa Well, it has its advantages and disndvaatages, and it depends on your situation. If you travel around Europe and want to change cities every day, it is good cause it will end up cheaper than having to buy tickets every time; if you're only going to 2 or 3 cities, it is cheaper to get the normal tickets. If it is a long-term trip with many destinations, go with Interrail. if not, not worth it.it's also good cause you know you have somewhere to sleep at night, namely the trains =). It does not offer free places in the sleeping compartments, though.

re: La Paz, BoliviaPatryk Michelob light is one of the top selling beer in the USA. Others are Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light, Miller MGD, Miller Lite, and other light beers. It is true that at one point this is all we had or very few reagonil ones with at small amount of taste. But today we have some very hard flavored beers from the smaller brewers. It seems many of these beers are as bad in the flavor sense as the light ones are as they go too far with it. But today to define American beers from just the ultra light ones is shortsighted and ignorant. Educate yourself on beer and American beer prior to making useless remarks. How do does anyone know what rat piss taste like, they drink it? Real gross for sure. lol
re: Lima, PeruMonu Because that's what they have been brought up on.Thankfully there is now a grnoiwg craft brew movement in the US that is brewing full tasting beers, not mass produced pap.We had a reat range of American beers at the Great British Beer Festival last week, and they were one of the first things to sell out.Don't put all American beer under the knats piss label, some is actually very good and in fact they brew some beers better than we do in the UK Their IPAs are actually proper strength IPAs and not the weak rubbish some breweries (RCH with their Hewish IPA for instance) produce.EDIT: Having read some of the earlier answerers some people just don't understand the difference between strength taste.A Bud, cough spit vomit, is stronger that Oakham Ales JCB I know which one I would drink every time
re: Lima, PeruNana First of all, can you legally buy prpotrey in Peru, do you have a DNI, CE , or permission to sign a contract visa? You'll need one of those. Have you talked to the orphanage in Arequipa? I recommend posting info on, you can place an advert there for free. Also, who is going to care for the kids and the orphaange? There's a lot of red tape in Peru. Especially if you-re a foreigner.AS for money, try contacting churches, also try posting info on andAlso about cost, I don't know, but we bought a 80m2 flat in Lima and it was close to 30K.

re: La Paz, BoliviaClalu Hi Dan!First of all thanks for timmencong! I agree with you that the walkways are definitely necessary and you're right, they are probably the only way for people to get such an up close look of the falls without slipping and sliding everywhere! I think that while they ruin the natural feel of the place by having walkways instead of just dirt hiking trails, they are probably doing the best job possible of preserving the environment by keeping people on well defined pathways. I was a bit surprised when I first saw the trams and definitely when I saw the jet boat tours. I was anticipating something a little more natural! My Disneyfication comment was really intended to prepare people for the fact that this wasn't going to be a true hiking adventure! Even so, it is still on the top of my list as one of my favorite places to visit!
re: Puerto Iguassu, ArgentinaJohana Wow, death seems to inspire the will to rvepent it, in many people. My wife also died, on the 22nd of April 2008. I am still just DEVASTATED, by her death. She was only 40, and her death came suddenly & took me completely by surprise. I Never imagined that she would die before me. I have a bachelors degree, but in social work, which I do not want to pursue any further. I have been thinking about medical school and Physician’s Assistant programs. I like helping people, but I want to be able to actually “solve the problem”, which is rather impractical in social work, I feel. The best of luck to you all, may GOD grant comfort and success, to all of you.
