So we have made it to Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. Two long days on the slow boat but the scenary was lovely and wasnt too hard work sitting back watching the world go by! Its good to be back somewhere with reliable eletricity and working ATM's after a few dark nights in Laos! Chiang Mai is great with loads going on, a good night market and lots of nice bars and restaurants. Last night we went to a Muay Thai boxing fight, a great atmosphere, lots of drink and a hilarious blindfolded fight was the highlight! Today was what Katie had been looking forward to since we left.....back to the Elephants. It was a great day especially as they now have 3 babies, one was only two weeks old. We fed and bathed with the ele's and got a couple of slobbering kisses! Katie was in her element telling me all the stories of what her and Ruth got up to ( 'look Graham me and Ruth did that......look Graham me and Ruth did this' blah blah blah!!!) Its a really beautiful place surrounded by forest and not only are there 36 elephants we made friends with lots of rescued dogs too. Tomorrorw we are heading down South on the night train followed by a night bus from Bangkok, looking forward to some beach time and meeting Heather and Ben.
