Sau Paulo
Thursday 7th January
Today we caught our coach to Sao Paulo to stay for 4 nights. The journey was about 6 hours but the drive was really scenic all along the coast. The hostel (Hotel Jaumar) was really nice the best wev stayed in yet and the cheapest! It was right in the centre just near the metro so it was a really good location. We decided to try the food stalls for tea we had some really nice noodles. On Friday we headed to a museum the guys from the boat in Paraty told us to visit called Pinacoteca it was really good our photos show a display of about 50 different sized globes all rotating the same way that looked really good. We walked into Parque da Luz which was in walking distance from our hostel its was just a nice place to chill out and have a walk around, it had a lake and a mini waterfall. The city of Sao Paulo is very busy with sky scrapers and lots of shops it reminded us of London so it was nice to have a quiet walk away from the hustle and bustle.
On Saturday we took the metro and headed to Parque do Ibiraquera which is a massive park with a massive lake a lot of people where there walking with thier families because it was a really hot day. We strolled up to the district of Bela Vista which is the Italian area of the city. We must have walked for miles and miles but it was a good day it gave Mark a chance to practise walking in his flip flops! Haha!
On Sunday we headed to the Japenese part of town called Liberdade there we found a massive market with different types of homemade jewellry. Mark chose his birthday present from me a backpackers leather bracelet I wsnt sure about it at first but it actually looks really good on him. I found a beautiful flower ring with different coloured stones. We got to the top part of the market and there was so many food stalls selling really random but delicious food we tried chicken satay kebabs and Mark even tried some squid dumplings we also had some sort of pancake contraption we wasnt sure what it was but it was really nice! To finish the day off we headed to a popluar bar in the district we were staying called Bar Brahma and had a few pints of chop (they even gave us 2 free!) That was our favourite day in Sao Paulo its a good place to go but we were glad to be heading out to Puerto Iguazu after 4 days I think thats enough time to spend there!
