Hello everybody!
Sorry for the delays in any updates we seemed to have gotten a little lazy in Canada!!
So here we are...after leaving the home comforts of Calgary we set off for the glamorous Los Angeles and it was everything we expected. After landing we grabbed our backpacks and headed outside excited to get to our motel on sunset boulevard. Jumping into a taxi we got the shock of our life, the taxi cost a whopping $100!! We now know LA is going to be expensive, its a good job we only stayed 2 days!!
We checked into our motel which was nice it had everything we needed and decided to head straight to Hollywood boulevard which luckily was just round the corner so we didnt have to get another taxi!! We strolled around looking at the walk of fame and almost bumping into other people trying to find thier favourite celeb stars because everyone was walking with thier heads down!! We stopped off at the Graumans chinese theatre and looked at the famous prints and signatures imprinted in the entrance, we couldnt hang around long though because the premier for the film Nightmare on Elm Street was taking place, we were hoping to spot a celeb but sadly it was all cornered off. We spotted Madame Tousades and the Hollywood Wax Museum and went into the Hollywood and Highland complex where we caught an amazing view of the Hollywood sign!! We grabbed a bite to eat here overlooking the famous Hollywood Hills.
Our second day in LA was packed with the typical sightseeing in Hollywood. We decided because we only had a day to see the sights we baught a ticket for a hop on hop off bus to take us around LA. We were your typical tourist but the bus was well worth it. The Californian sun was shining and Mark burnt his forehead but that didnt stop us hoping off and hoping on!!
Our first port of call was obviously Rodeo Drive for a spot of (window) shopping. The shops are sights in themselves!! We had a tour of Beverley Hills and saw where a lot of celebs live then headed towards Santa Monica. We spent all afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood and strolled around Venice beach and Santa Monica beach and pier. We grabbed an ice cream on the pier and overlooked the ocean view just before the sun was setting before heading back to LAX to catch our next flight....
