After arriving at the Crossleys final destination, we decided to explore our new surroundings of Hua Hin. We walked around the main city and tried to find an Italian restaurant which was Sarahs choice of dinner for her last night in Thailand. On our way home we jumped in a taxi and had a near miss when we were cruising on the highway and a female driver on a motorbike pulled right across the lane we were in to a complete stop right in front of us, how our driver managed to stop and swerve was beyond me, he must have missed her by a split second it was that close and at high speed, but our driver managed it and we lived to tell the tail!
The next day Dad hired a car again so we were free to explore our surroundings. We went to Tesco again to gather up the essentials while Sarah soaked up her last few rays. Sarah felt like another pizza before she left for the airport and on our way back from the supermarket we stumbled upon a Pizza Hut, we all know how much Mark loves his pizza, so in s split second when we pulled up at traffic lights Mark jumped out of the car across the central barriers dodged the oncoming traffic, risked his life in an effort to get a take away menu for Pizza Hut. He ran back to the car (in his flip flops, so god knows how he didn't injure himself) and showed me the menu, it was all in thai.... but it did have a telephone number. So we called for delivery. Me and Mark said goodbye to Sarah as she set off back to Bangkok international for her long (but it turned out to be even longer) journey home. She was on one of the last planes able to land in the UK before the volcanic ash struck again however she was supposed to land in Manchester, she was diverted to Birmingham, she made it home safe and sound in an altogether 30 hour journey! For tea we had what Mum thought was beef steak, however the taste was very different, it tasted more like pork. The packet told us it was something called "hygienic beef" whatever that is! After finishing our beef and/or pork dinner we headed to Hua Hin night market in a bid to find somewhere to watch the FA cup final. We wondered around the market where Dad put his new found shopping skills to the test again, eventually settling for a restaurant with a few large screen TV`s. We ordered drinks which were the cheapest we`d had since we arrived in Thailand and watched the game. Dad decided he was hungry again, although he assures us he doesn't eat like he used to, and ordered a thai red curry. Dad was tucking into his dish and enjoying his singha, and we were all watching the FA cup final in the middle of the night market when, strolling down the street was your everyday elephant! Im sure we`ll never watch an FA cup final like it again!
The next day we woke up early and went to see the famous Hua Hin train station. Then headed to the beach. Dad and Mark decided they were "thirsty" so went for a drink (a beer). At night time Dad took us to the Hilton hotel to the Chinese restaurant on the 17th floor with fantastic views of the Hua Hin coastline. My favourite food is Chinese and I had been telling mum and dad that nowhere we`ve been since we left home had crispy duck and pancakes so I hadn't eaten it in almost 6 months. Low and behold it was on the menu along with a few dozen dishes we ordered!!
On Monday we took off for a visit to Cha am. We settled on the side of the beach in some deck chairs and hammocks and lazed by the sea all day. Mum cooked us some grub at our apartment for super. The following day we visited the Marriet hotel and sneaked in to use the facilities! We had a bit of lunch and sunbathed all day. We were all enjoying books or sleeping in Dads case when suddenly a monkey appeared out of nowhere and was strolling around the pool! Dad got the fright of his life when mum shook his arm to show him the monkey! It just carried on exploring for a few minutes before heading back to the beach! At night time we went out for a good old curry!
Day 4 in Hua Hin we set off to visit the famous waterfalls Pala U. It turned out to be a nightmare because there were no road signs what so ever so we ended up in what looked like the set of hills of eyes, so rather than being stranded in the middle of nowhere we settled for plan B. We headed back to Cha am to take up our deck chairs and hammocks again. However when we arrived we realised everything looked closed down, the deck chairs must only be out on a weekend! Plan C was to enjoy our own hotels pool, which is out of this world anywhere in the complex you can jumped into the pool, and it even has a separate infinity pool over looking the ocean. At night we ventured back to the night market to sample some more Thai food, it was a struggle to find a place where we could all eat, Mark assured me and Dad we should have "fishfood" he kept saying I don't like fishfood, but you and Leanne do so you have the fishfood. We finally realised he meant seafood! Haha. We decided our final day in Hua Hin was to be spent in the same way relaxing by our hotel pool.
