So even in spite of the terrible weather we headed down to hervey bay which is the jumping off point for fraser island, the rain was really starting to do our heads in now it was like being back in england, when we got to our hostel we were happy because our room had a tv and dvd player so at least we had something to watch while the rain kept us indoors. The plan was to stay there a night then go across to fraser island but we started getting the feeling the rain wasnt going to let that happen when severe weather warnings for the next 4 days were put on the news for our area and there was flooding and more floods coming, the whole of hervey bay was covered in sand bags in people front gardens to stop the floods ruining there homes! We waited for five days then enough was enough we had to move on without doing fraser we were gutted but we will return! Bloody australian weather!
