There's something they don't tell you when you sign up for this round the world malarky, and that is that travelling round the world is not all fun all the time, and nor should it be expected to be. They also don't tell you that just because you're not having fun and doing new and exciting things every minute of every day it doesn't mean you are a failure at travelling, or should be ashamed of telling the folks back home that you feel that way.

So now you know why I've been purposely avoiding updating this thing, I guess I should actually update. ;)

As most of you will know through phonecalls/facebook/livejournal/msn/the family grapevine (etc), I'm still banged up in Jail in Christchurch. It's nice in a lot of ways, as it's allowed me to build a family base for myself in this strange country, and to ground myself again after the non stop adventures of the two and a half months before I arrived here, and to spend some time focusing on my art. At the same time, however, I think I've pretty much exhausted everything Christchurch has for me, and the sitting around living the mundane life where my funds are slowly dwindling makes me feel like I'm back where I was after I graduated (which was not a fun place at all). It's just not what I came to New Zealand to do, you know? (I mean, Christchurch is great and all, but there's only so much of wandering around a city that looks like *insert generic British city name here* but is far far away from home a girl can take.)

And so I'm moving on. To Wellington via Kaikoura and Picton. Should be fun. :D

Anyways, now that I've come out of my proverbial hiding place I intend to get this thing up to date, because, yes I am aware that most of you know little of my adventures beyond the land of Oz. But not right now. Right now I have work to do...
